Experts like Senator Frist, Senator Lieberman, and former Senator Sam Nunn have been working to alert the American people to the awful effects that we might see in an attack on an American city with a weapon of mass destruction. But could that really happen? Don't we have ways to stop such a terrible eventuality? To learn more about Homeland Security, the real issues we face, and how they might impact your life . . . and your studies . . . join us at 7 PM, Thursday night, 8 Sept, in Chem 100. Call out the Guard! For generations, those words from state and national leaders have prompted heroic service and steady leadership as members of the National Guard deploy to serve their neighbors and their country at home and abroad. Faced with new threats to homeland security, some have cried, “Put the military in charge!” The differences between Homeland Defense and Homeland Security are signifi cant, but not always clear. And the implications for the Nation, the Guard, and the active duty military are dramatic. When the Governor wants expert advice on this issue, he turns to his Adjutant General, Charles G. Rodriguez. Join us to hear what advice he can offer.
