Summary of Key Issues, Points, Conclusions:
A Multi-State Information Sharing and Analysis Center (ISAC) was established in January 2003 and there are 49 states and the District of Columbia participating. The MS-ISAC can serve as a critical point of contact between the States and the Federal government. The member states meet monthly by teleconference to discuss issues and share information relating to each state’s cyber security readiness and resilience. The MS-ISAC has been recognized by the Department of Homeland Security for its proactive role in bringing the states together.

The Department of Homeland Security's Computer Emergency Readiness Team (US-CERT) and the MS-ISAC are working together on a number of programs, including the National Webcast Initiative, to help enhance our Nation's cyber security readiness and response.
