Summary of Key Points, Issues, Conclusions:

For the sixth consecutive year, AT&T telephone surveyed 1,000 Information Technology executives on business continuity and disaster recovery preparedness in 10 US designated market areas:  Boston, New York, Atlanta, Cleveland, Chicago, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Memphis/Nashville, Houston, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.
Key findings from the 2007 AT&T Business Continuity Study include:
•    Business continuity is seen as a “priority” by more than two-thirds of IT executives (and 30% of executives view it as “not a priority”)
•    Of the 10 cities surveyed this year, businesses in New York and Houston ranked first in terms of being the most prepared for natural and man-made disasters, while businesses in Cleveland came in last.
•    Companies are more diligent about updating their plans than they are about testing their plans.  Only one-third of all companies implement specific protective actions when federal or state government issues an alert for an impending disaster
•    82% of executives indicate that cyber security is part of their company’s overall business continuity plan (however, all executives interviewed were IT executives)
