In cooperation with the Department of Homeland Security, the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) administers and coordinates standard technology and practices for U.S industries. Recently, ANSI developed an all-inclusive resource for homeland security research. The Homeland Security Standards Database, located at http://www.hssd.us, offers convenient access to security standards for first responder and other officials. The site currently distributes standards into five searchable categories:
- Threats
- Emergency Preparedness and Response
- Borders and Transportation
- Information Analysis & Infrastructure Protection
- U.S. DHS standards
