The Office of Security and Safety Performance Assurance (SSA) works to ensure various aspects of America’s energy infrastructure are appropriately secured, and function with a high level of efficiency.  The primary goal of the SSA is to ensure that the assets of the Department of Energy remain secure, and to this end it has implemented several advanced security technologies and procedures.  The SSA is subdivided into seven branches which all have unique aspects of infrastructure protection to monitor.  These subdivisions include: The National Training Center; Office of Security Operations; Office of Technology and Field Assistance; Office of Independent Oversight; Office of Classification; Office of Security Policy; and Office of Material Control and Accountability.
