Jeannine Kantz

Senior Research Associate

Jeannine KantzJeannine Kantz joined the staff of ICHS in May 2007. She has a BS and MS in biology from Tarleton State University and a doctorate in agricultural education from Texas A&M University, with emphasis in adult and distance education (2004). She has many years experience in the development of professional masters programs, including her dissertation research to identify core competencies for a professional science masters combining biotechnology and business. Dr. Kantz is responsible for development of the new masters program in homeland security, an effort led by ICHS.

Dr. Kantz has worked in a variety of research and education positions during her fifteen-year career at Texas A&M. Prior to coming to ICHS, she was an assistant director at the Career Center for three years, where she led the effort to develop an electronic professional development portfolio, AggiE-folio. Earlier experience includes several years as coordinator for the Professional Program in Biotechnology, where she managed the daily operations of the program and advised students; coordinator of the Texas Biotechnology Teacher Enhancement Project, a 3-year NSF funded project that trained 700+ science teachers across Texas; and two years as a research assistant in plant pathology.

She has two grown sons-one a watchmaker with Brietling, Int’l, and the other an artist who illustrates comic books and is majoring in Japan studies at University of North Texas. In her free time, she enjoys country living, crafts of all kinds, DIY projects, gardening, biking, cooking and her pets (four dogs and two birds at last count).
